Objectives and Openings
The 2-year M.Sc. “Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence” is a high level, flexible choice curriculum introducing students to the mathematical tools and theories used in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Its goal is to bring students up to date with current research and train them to push the frontier of knowledge in this rapidly developing field.
The curriculum includes modules covering the fundamentals of M.Sc.-level mathematics as well as specialized modules.
Particular emphasis is placed on probabilistic and statistical tools, which play a central role. The interaction of these methods with other fields of mathematics (such as optimization, spectral theory, discrete geometry or functional analysis), as well as with computer science, is also of major importance and makes for the richness of this discipline: this is reflected in the choice of proposed modules.
The intended goal for this M.Sc. is to prepare students for Ph.D. studies in academia or the private sector.
Numerus clausus: 20 students
