This cross-disciplinary training track is offered by the FMJH and the EDMH. Launched at the start of the 2022 academic year, it is the result of more than a year of work with the FMJH's strategic think-tank, composed of representatives from companies of various sizes and profiles, as well as with the EDMH administration and the doctoral students themselves.
The goal of this program is to better prepare PhD students who wish to participate—in all branches of mathematics—for their professional futures, whatever they may be, particularly outside the academic research sector.
The MathTech track is specifically designed for EDMH PhD students to develop cross-disciplinary skills
Why develop cross-disciplinary skills?
- To showcase what you do by learning to “sell” yourself more effectively, share your knowledge, and pass it on
- To open the door to new opportunities and build interpersonal skills
- To develop an open mind, understand the challenges, and identify emerging trends
- To build connections, avoid silos, and foster a multidisciplinary approach
The “MathTech Challenge” and the “MathTech Meetings” are the two highlights of this program. Registration for these two events, as well as for the other workshops that make up the program, is available through the ADUM system. Registration for each of these cross-disciplinary training components is open throughout the three years of PhD preparation.
