Hadamard Doctoral School of Mathematics (EDMH)
The objective of the Hadamard Doctoral School of Mathematics (EDMH) is to bring together all doctoral training in mathematics within the scope of Paris-Saclay University and the Paris Institute of Polytechnique, from fundamental mathematics (algebra, analysis, geometry, logic, probability, statistics), applied mathematics (applied algebra, applied analysis, applied geometry, applied probability, applied statistics, numerical analysis, scientific computing, mathematical engineering, financial mathematics, modeling, optimization), including interdisciplinary mathematics (mathematics-economics, mathematics-computer science, mathematics-mechanics, mathematics-physics, mathematics-engineering sciences, mathematics-life sciences, and others).
The EDMH has around 400 doctoral students and 400 HDRs (accreditation to supervise research). Recruitment is largely open to international applicants.
Its scope covers 10 institutions within the Paris-Saclay University (AgroParisTech, CEA, CentraleSupelec, ENS Paris-Saclay, Faculté des Sciences d'Orsay, IHES, INRAE, INRIA, University of Evry-Val-d'Essone, University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin), 6 institutions of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (Ecole Polytechnique, ENPC, ENSTA, ENSAE, TélécomParis, Télécom SudParis), one institution from the Paris Sciences et Lettres University (Ecole Normale Supérieure), 21 host laboratories, and three INRIA research teams.
The EDMH is also an environment of excellence, with 11 FIELDS medals, one ABEL prize, one WOLF prize, numerous academic awards, and numerous thesis prizes.

FMJH supports EDMH
The EDMH is strongly supported by the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard (FMJH), in terms of thesis grants, administrative staff, and financial support. FMJH has played a key role in the construction of the EDMH, and is making a crucial contribution to its development. The FMJH supports EDMH through its doctoral program:
- Funding doctoral grants;
- Traveling for research training with 2 programs
- Contribution to the funding of one- to two-month international research stays for doctoral students, as part of the Junior Visibility Scientific program
- Contribution to the financing of doctoral students' participation in events with a high doctoral training content, such as summer/winter schools, as part of the Vivaldi program for doctoral training;
- Financing of the MathTech track, a training program to develop cross-disciplinary skills, specifically designed for EDMH doctoral students.
